Upgrade trades probability against value directly. You pick the skins you are putting in and the chance you want to play at, and the target value moves to match - a low chance aims at something far above what you staked, a high chance at a smaller step up. Because you set the chance explicitly, the odds are never implied or buried: the number you choose is the number the roll uses, and the whole round resolves in a single instant rather than over a sequence of decisions.
The roll is committed to a seed pair before you confirm, so the target cannot shift once your skins are in, and the result can be recomputed from the revealed seeds afterwards - see the fairness page for the exact method.
